1) 2008 ANNUAL MEETING INFORMATION IS ONLINE
A brand new web site devoted entirely to the 2008 Québec City Meeting can be accessed through the COA web site: http://www.coa-aco.org/. Click on the "Click right here to access 2008 Annual Meeting information" link beside the Québec 2008 logo on the home page. Travel, hotel and other preliminary information is currently posted. Check back for updates as we develop the programme and activities that will take place from June 4-7 in la belle province.
Thank you to all COA members who submitted abstracts for presentation at the upcoming 2008 COA Annual Meeting. The Programme Committee has already begun reviewing and scoring the submissions. Authors will be contacted by e‑mail by the end of November whether or not their abstracts have been accepted as podium or poster presentations.
2) COA MEMBER RECEIVES THE ORDER OF NOVA SCOTIA
Congratulations are extended to Dr. William Stanish (Halifax, NS) who received the Order of Nova Scotia from Premier Rodney MacDonald earlier this month. Dr. Stanish has worked with elite athletes beginning with the 1976 Olympics in Montreal and was chief medical officer for the Canadian Olympic teams in 1984 and 1988. Dr. Stanish is a professor of orthopaedic surgery at Dalhousie University and has contributed to more than 182 publications including co-editing one of the world's major sports medicine texts. His positive attitude in dealing with patients and his ability to sell Nova Scotia have been instrumental in facilitating the recovery of patients and in the recruitment of doctors, coaches and athletes to the province.
