We hope that all of our members have had the chance to review the scientific programme that is being offered in Whistler this year.  Hands-on workshops, hot topic symposia, tips and tricks video sessions, instructional course lectures and paper sessions that cover every subspecialty, will be presented in one of the Country's most beautiful locations.  Thanks are extended to Dr. Pierre Guy (Scientific and Educational Programme Chair) and Dr. Robert Hawkins (Programme Co-chair) for their outstanding efforts in bringing together this year's innovative programme.

Don't miss this meeting, bring along your family and register today!

2)      COA PARTICIPATES IN "DOCTORS IN THE HOUSE" LOBBY DAY
Dr. Ken Hughes (Richmond, BC) has volunteered to represent the COA in Ottawa on March 31, 2009.  This annual Canadian Medical Association event is an important advocacy effort for both the CMA and the COA. Dr. Hughes will be meeting with several influential MPs to discuss issues of importance to orthopaedic surgeons and how resource shortages in orthopaedics affect our patients. Look for a report in a future edition of the COA Bulletin.

3)      REWARDING RESIDENT'S FOOT AND ANKLE RESEARCH
The Canadian Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (COFAS) is pleased to announce the establishment of a $3,000 annual scholarship award to assist a resident in attending the annual American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society Summer Meeting. The best foot and ankle paper presented at the annual CORA meeting will be chosen by the COFAS Research Committee. The award is meant to reward the resident for their excellent work and to increase resident exposure to the exciting subspecialty of foot and ankle surgery.

4)      FREE CAREER AND FELLOWSHIP LISTINGS
Members can promote their centre's fellowship and career opportunities on the COA web site at no charge.  Attract today's best and brightest by listing your programme's fellowships and job openings in our online directories.  These two areas are some of the most frequented pages on the COA web site.  Contact Cynthia Vezina for details: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
