ONTARIO MANDATES CJRR IN ALL HOSPITALS CJRR is pleased to announce that as of April 1st, 2012, all Ontario hospitals will be submitting data to CJRR as per the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care's 2011-2012 Wait Time Strategy (WTS) Conditions for Funding. This is a huge step forward for CJRR as it will increase coverage from 43% to 75% of all procedures, enhancing CJRR's ability to be a pan-Canadian data source to support the improvement of care and clinical outcomes for joint replacement patients. Ontario hospitals will submit either through electronic files or using the CJRR web-based tool, replacing paper data collection in that province.
The Ontario mandate will begin with the implementation of CJRR's new Minimum Data Set which will be launched nationwide on April 1st, 2012. CJRR thanks Drs. Robert Bourne and Jim Waddell in particular for their extraordinary efforts in moving Ontario in this direction.
