Originally known as the "French Fellowship", the CFBS Fellowship was inaugurated in 1972 by Drs. J.P. Moreau and Tony Trias. The original intent of this Fellowship was to generate interest in the orthopaedic specialty among the younger French speaking orthopaedic surgeons.
The tour occurs in the early Fall. During the odd-numbered years (i.e. 2011, 2013, 2015 etc.), European Fellows visit Canada, while Canadian Fellows tour Europe during the even-numbered years (i.e 2012, 2014, 2016).
Canadian candidates are selected by the COA's Exchange Fellowships Committee for the tour.
Application Deadline: The deadline for applications from Canadian candidates is NOVEMBER 1 of every ODD year (i.e. 2011, 2013, 2015 etc.).
