Awards
The COA has the honour of granting special awards for outstanding service, excellence and merit to its members who have gone over and above the standard call for duty. On behalf of Dr. Cy Frank, Immediate Past President, we are pleased to congratulate the following members who were presented awards during the Opening Ceremonies in Edmonton:

Presidential Award for Excellence
Dr. Clive P. Duncan (Vancouver, British Columbia)

Award of Merit
Dr. Robert B. Bourne (London, Ontario)

Dr. Kenneth F. Hughes (Richmond, British Columbia)

The University of Manitoba Joint Replacement Group:
Drs. Eric Bohm, Colin Burnell, David R. Hedden and Thomas Turgeon (Winnipeg, MB)

J.A. Nutter Award
Dr. Ali Zahrai, from the University of Toronto, was awarded the J.A. Nutter Award for the best paper presented during the Canadian Orthopaedic Residents' Association (CORA) Annual Meeting.  His winning abstract, "Quality of Life and Educational Benefit Among Orthopaedic Surgery Residents: A Prospective, Multi-centre Comparison of the Night Float and the Standard Call Systems", along with the 2^nd Prize (Dr. Yung Han, McGill University)  and 3^rd Prize (Bashar Alolabi, University of Western Ontario) abstracts will be published in the Autumn 2010 edition of the COA Bulletin.
