The Winnipeg Spine Programme Spine Fellowship is a clinical spine fellowship designed to provide the successful applicant with an extensive and well rounded exposure to all operative and non-operative aspects of adult and pediatric spinal surgery. The fellowship will be based at the Health Sciences Centre and Children’s Hospital in Winnipeg. This draws from a population base of Manitoba, Western Ontario and Eastern Saskatchewan.

These hospitals are the major referral centres for spinal pathologies within this region. The Fellow will gain familiarity with anterior and posterior and combined approaches to the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine with anterior and posterior instrumentation.

The Fellow is expected to participate and contribute to the ongoing education of resident staff in the clinical setting as well as the operating room and spine rounds. The Fellow is required to produce at least one peer review publication and presentation at a national meeting. Research responsibilities will be primarily based on clinical material however; there is opportunity for some basic science research.

There is one position available annually funded at $62,900.00/annum Canadian.

The position runs from July 1st to June 30th of each year.
