COFAS is interested in facilitating multicentered research trials in Canada. The research committee, consisting of orthopaedic surgeon clinical investigators from various regions in Canada, will discuss all research projects at an annual meeting. Projects will be chosen for multicentered trials to be facilitated in an administration fashion by COFAS according to the merit and ethical acceptability of the proposed research. The intent of the COFAS involvement in proposed research projects is to provide access to a network of Canadian orthopaedic surgeons interested in Foot & Ankle care and research. It is not intended to provide financial support to research projects at this time.
Proposed research will remain in control of the primary investigator who proposes the research. The primary investigator will retain all publication rights and act throughout the project as lead investigator with respect to research design, financing, and final publication. COFAS will facilitate the research with feedback on the proposal with respect to methodologies including outcome measurements and then assist with the administration of the multicentered study by recruiting orthopaedic surgeons who have the appropriate practice to conduct the research.
If you are interested in having your Foot & Ankle research considered for a multicentered trial in Canada registered with assistance provided by the COFAS, please fill out the form below and submit it to COFAS care of Mark Glazebrook (COFAS Research Director). There will be an annual COFAS research meeting held in September. Deadline for submissions will be October 31 annually.
