Introduction

Massive rotator cuff tears are a debilitating and difficult pathology to treat. Four distinct treatment options will be discussed in this month's Themes section. This includes nonoperative treatment (Dr. Peter B. MacDonald), debridement and partial arthroscopic repair (Dr. Richard M. Holtby), reverse shoulder arthroplasty (Dr. Ryan T. Bicknell), and tendon transfers (Drs. Danny Goel and Darren Drosdowech).
