1) HALIFAX PRE-MEETING REGISTRATION - CLOSING SOON!
Online and pre-registration for the upcoming Annual Meeting in Halifax will close on Tuesday, May 22. All registrations after that date will have to be processed ON SITE at the registration desk in Halifax. To avoid delays, pre-register for the meeting by going to: http://www.coa-annual-meeting.org/ and register before May 22.

Have you joined the COA within the past six years? The Executive Committee would like to invite all Active members of the Association who have joined between 2001and 2007 to a luncheon being held on Saturday, June 2 in Halifax. Please join us in Highland 10 at the World Trade and Convention Centre from 12:30 to 13:15. We would like to say ‘thank you' for your interest and support. Dolores Lewis, wife of COA President, Dr. Brendan D. Lewis, would also like to take this opportunity to invite the spouses of our new members to attend a special breakfast in the Partners' Hospitality Suite (Barrington Suite/Delta Barrington Hotel) on Friday, June 1 from 8:00 to 9:30. 3) 4th ANNUAL WOMEN IN ORTHOPADICS LUNCHEON
All orthopaedic residents, fellows, surgeons and supporters of women in orthopaedics are invited to attend the 4th annual Women in Orthopaedics luncheon that is being held on Friday, June 1 from 13:00 - 15:30 in the Highland 8 room of the World Trade and Convention Centre in Halifax. Major Karen Breeck, BSc, MD, MHSc, ABPM(AM), will be this year's featured guest speaker and present a talk entitled: "Leadership - what the military has taught me". The 2007 Hip Hip Hooray! campaign is just a few days away. On Sunday, May 27th, dates in some communities differ, 31 communities across Canada will be celebrating lifelong bone and joint health. The best party of the year will be the COA's Lobster Bash in Halifax on Saturday, June 2. 6) COA MEMBER RUNS FOR OFFICE
Dr. Doug Kayler (Winnipeg, MB) is running for MLA (Kirkfield Park riding) with the Liberals in the upcoming Manitoba election that is taking place on May 22. "I am running to offer Manitoba voters a precise understandable diagnosis of why their health care system is sick, and a straightforward prescription for the cure that will heal and transform our system." The COA wishes Dr. Kayler all the best in his campaign.
