Fellowship Description:
The Fellowship will be a combination of Foot and Ankle reconstructive surgery with Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Trauma. The breakdown will be approximately 75% Foot and Ankle and 25% Trauma. This call will be done out of hospital from home and the Fellow will be committed to call when Dr. Glazebrook is on call at a 1 to 11 frequency.
A typical work week will be two days of operative Orthopaedics which will include roughly 75% Foot and Ankle and 25% Trauma. There will be one ½ day of Fracture Clinic for patient follow up visits and ½ day of office visits for new patients. There will be one day of research where the Fellow will be involved in at least two research projects which will require paper preparation for publication at the end. The final day will be a flexibility day where the Fellow will be encouraged to participate in further clinical activities or research activities that are offered to him once arriving.
The Fellow will also be sponsored to attend one Orthopaedic meeting, economy air fare and hotel will be covered for this. The Fellow will be encouraged to attend further meetings especially when local sponsorship can be achieved.
The Fellow will be expected to teach the Residents both in clinical situations and academic lecture format. This will be less than 5% of the time. This will also include sharing operative cases.
