Awards
The COA has the honour of granting special awards for outstanding service, excellence and merit to its members who have gone over and above the standard call for duty. On behalf of Dr. Robert B. Bourne, Immediate Past President, we are pleased to congratulate the following members who were presented awards during the Opening Ceremonies in Toronto:

Presidential Award for Excellence
Dr. Robert Bell
Dr. Cyril B. Frank

Award of Merit
Dr. Donald Sweet - posthumously.  Kindly accepted by Dr. Thomas V. Smallman on behalf of the Sweet family.

Congratulations should be extended to Emma Dare (Ottawa, ON) and her co-authors for winning the prestigious CORS Founders Medal for their paper: Evaluation of Genipin Cross-Linked Fibrin Gels for Tissue Engineering of Human Articular Cartilage Evaluation of Genipin Cross-Linked Fibrin Gels for Tissue Engineering of Human Articular Cartilage. The Founder's Medal is presented to the most outstanding paper presented during the CORS scientific sessions.

Congratulations!
The winner of the early registration prize (through random draw) of a trip for two to Las Vegas is: Dr. John L. Wiens of Winnipeg, MB.

Dr. Daniel Penello, from the University of Toronto was the winner of the Exhibitor’s Passport draw that was held on June 3. He is the recipient of a $1,000 Future Shop gift certificate.
